The Lamar Church of Christ is a group of individuals just like you that love one another and the Lord. We strive to follow the commands of God that He has given to us in His word, the Bible. It is our aim to live both for and with God in all our daily activities. The Bible alone is our guide for our daily life. Jesus Christ is the example that we follow. He not only came to save us from our sins but to deliver us from the grip of Satan. That is why we call ourselves Christians because Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

Our Worship Service

Our worship service is simple and devout. The purpose of our services is to draw each worshipper closer to God and to provide spiritual strength for our daily lives. Using the Bible as our sole source of authority, we find what God desires of us in our worship to Him. Our services consist of partaking the Lord’s Supper, that is kept in memory of the Lord (Matthew 26:26-28; Acts 20:7), a cappella or congregational singing (Ephesians 5:19), a free will contribution (1 Corinthians 16:1-2), a Bible centered sermon (Acts 20:7), and speaking to our heavenly father by prayer (Acts 2:47). No one is called on, singled out, or embarrassed during our worship time together.

Bible Classes

In addition to our regular worship services we also offer Bible classes on Sunday morning and Wednesday night. We have classes for all ages. Each class is taught by a dedicated and loving teacher, that loves individuals and the Lord. The adult classes study a wide range of Biblical subjects. It is the goal of the education program to instruct the student with the word of God as well as encourage everyone to greater service for and with the Lord.

Our Mission

We at the Lamar Church of Christ are Christians and nothing more. Our purpose is to follow Christ and to lead others to His saving power. Our motivation for such comes from our love for the Lord, our obedience to the will of God, and our desire for all to be residents in heaven for eternity.

Activities

We are a group that loves to serve the Lord and one another. There are many opportunities to enjoy fellowship with each other. We participate in many different activities. Each event provides an opportunity for individuals to enjoy a close association together and draw closer to the Lord as we serve him and others.
